TERRAenVISION Granada (8-11.07.2025)

The TERRenVISION Conference has officially concluded – A convergence of Nature, Innovation, and Collaboration 🌍

From July 8th to 10th, the city of Granada became a vibrant hub for scientific exchange and policy dialogue around Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), with the closing of the TERRAenVISION 2025 Conference at the ETS de Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos (Universidad de Granada). More than 100 participants, including researchers, policymakers, practitioners, NGOs, and students, joined this international forum to explore sustainable pathways for addressing environmental challenges such as land degradation, climate adaptation, and ecosystem restoration.

TERRAenVISION brought together a truly interdisciplinary consortium – including UGR, Graniot, GAIA, Uni Trier, Uni Sapienza, and many others – to tackle global sustainability questions through the lens of scientific evidence and community-based action. The conference featured a diverse program of keynotes, oral communications, poster sessions, and interactive fieldwork, creating a dynamic environment for sharing knowledge and forging new partnerships.

A highlight of the event was the field visit to the Bodegas Calvente lighthouse site, a living example of how land stewardship, traditional knowledge, and innovation can converge to protect vulnerable Mediterranean landscapes.

The SOSVITI project  played a highly active role throughout the conference. Members of the consortium participated with oral and poster presentations that showcased how this initiative contributes to the implementation and monitoring of NBS in vineyard landscapes. SOSVITI’s research on erosion control, hydrological modeling, soil conservation, and remote sensing using UAVs demonstrated clear synergies with the broader objectives of TERRAenVISION.

The collaboration between TERRAenVISION and SOSVITI represents a strategic convergence of research, practice, and policy. By sharing tools, case studies, and practical results, SOSVITI supported the dialogue around climate-resilient land management, particularly in Mediterranean agroecosystems. This mutual engagement also opens future opportunities for joint publications, workshops, and multi-actor demonstrative actions under European and international frameworks.

Thank you to all participants, contributors, and organizers who made this edition of TERRAenVISION such a meaningful event. Let’s continue building bridges between science and society to co-create solutions for our changing planet.
