We’ve had the pleasure of welcoming Lars Engelmann, a predoctoral researcher from the University of Trier, to the EGEMAP lab at the University of Granada and Graniot as part of his research stay. Lars is currently working on his PhD focused on spectrophotometry, and his visit has been a fantastic opportunity for knowledge exchange and joint exploration.
During his stay, Lars collaborated closely with Lucía Moreno Cuenca, analyzing data from our experimental plots in Almáchar and Villamena (Baetic Experimental Plot). Using different spectrophotometric techniques, they aimed to detect spectral patterns from various soil and vegetation samples — comparing results obtained with a UV-VIS spectrophotometer here at UGR and an infrared spectrophotometer back in Trier.
His visit was also made possible thanks to the support of Graniot, fostering synergies between research and applied geospatial technologies.
We’re grateful for the insights shared, the progress made, and the connections strengthened. Looking forward to continuing this fruitful collaboration!
